Shooting them with non-silent weapons will not alert enemies so long as you're well hidden. Before going Rambo on an outpost, always check the place out for one of these cages. If it does, it will continue attacking them until it dies. Depending on the animal, it may or may not attack the nearby enemies. If shot, these animal cages will break and the animal within will be set free. Several outposts throughout Far Cry 3 will have one or more animal cages located within them. Be warned though, if enemies randomly start dropping and there are witnesses, you can be easily spotted no matter where you're hiding. Make sure to use this to your advantage, as the arrows are retrievable and thus not as heavy a burden on your wallet when it comes time to replenish your ammunition. The Bow is a one-shot kill when used against normal enemies, and is also silent. Useful tips and tricks that might just make the difference between life and death when capturing a tricky outpost. This is more prevalent on the South Island than the North Island, but something to keep in mind. Note that not all Fast Travel locations have a shop (NPC or vending machine) for Jason to use. Inside most safe houses is an Automated store that can be used to purchase, equip, and customize weapons with attachments as well as allow Brody to sell off his excess collected crap (unused animal hides, plants, junk, etc.). Once the outpost is liberated, the safe house can be used as a Fast Travel point. Liberating an outpost without sounding an alarm will provide you with an XP bonus. Note that shooting an alarm box only disables that particular box (in addition to creating noise).Īlerted enemies will attempt to trigger alarms if they can. Once a single alarm is disabled, all others will automatically be disabled with it.
